Washington: House minority leader Nancy Pelosi has said that she has never met with the current Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak. “Not with this Russian ambassador, no,” Ms Pelosi had told Politico when asked whether she had ever met with the Russian envoy. However, it has emerged that she did indeed meet Mr Kislyak.

Spokesman Drew Hammill said that Ms Pelosi simply meant she never had a solo meeting with Mr Kislyak. “She has never had a private one-on-one with him,” he said.
