Khizr Khan turns US Constitution into a bestseller

Pocket version of the Constitution was in Amazon's list of top 10 bestselling books

Washington: The pocket-edition of the US constitution has over the weekend become one of the 10 best-selling books on Amazon after Khizr Khan, the father of a slain Muslim soldier, asked Donald Trump if he had read the US Constitution, according to the Independent. “Donald Trump, you're asking Americans to trust you with their future. Let me ask you, have you even read the United States Constitution? I will gladly lend you my copy. In this document, look for the words, look for the words, liberty and equal protection (under) law,” Mr Khan had said while speaking at Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia last week.

The edition being sold on Amazon is a different version that the one which Mr Khan had held up during the Democratic Convention, the Independent said. The best-seller on Amazon has a picture of former president George Washington on the cover. The 52-page pocket edition, which is sold for $1 on and includes the Declaration of Independence, is printed by the National Centre for Constitutional Studies. It is based on the original text. Mr Khan is the father of Humayan Khan, a soldier who died when a car bomb exploded during the Iraq War in 2004 and who was posthumously awarded the bronze star and the purple heart.
