In major embarrassment for the Egyptian President, an eBay user has mocked Abdel Fattah el-Sisi by putting him on 'sale' on the e-commerce website, according to a report in the Independent.
Recently, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi gave a speech during an address on the state television where he encouraged people to donate money to help the economy. He also announced various development plans for the country adding, “If it were possible for me to be sold, I would sell myself."
While he was largely mocked by people for what he said, an eBay user took Sisi's words for real and created a post on eBay website which read 'For sale on eBay, Field Marshal, Doctor of Philosophy with a military background, decent condition, current bid $100,301'. The post received good response as more than 100 users responded to the bid.
The page carried a smiling photograph of the former Egyptian army head with his details that described him as 'slightly used' one with a military background, according to a translation by Foreign Policy.

The post was removed later during the day, said the report.
Egypt has been suffering economic losses and has witnessed a downfall in the tourism revenue since the downing of a Russian jet which was followed by flight bans to Sharm el-Sheikh.
