It’s not everyday that you come across politicians indulging in that small Twitter “exchange”, but Nara Lokesh Naidu of the Telugu Desam and Telangana IT Minister KTR made sure the network was a much more interesting place to be in, on Thursday.
It all started when Lokesh tweeted directly to KTR after a campaign run in Hyderabad.
@KTRTRS Anasuya mistook me for you & fell in front of my vehicle in the tour as she has no other way of reaching you, Lokesh fired off, referring to a woman who had approached him during his campaign.
Within a few minutes, KTR (in the mood for some pre-election pokes himself) replied, Brother, glad she understands that it is the state Govt and party in power that can make it happen.
Will take care of her and many others like her too. Thanks for bringing it to my attention & good luck with the electioneering. May the better party win.
And just when you thought it was all sunny and calm, Lokesh fired off another salvo aimed at both KTR and TRS’ promises with this comeback.
She has a question. Where is her 2BHK flat that was promised? She & many others like her are waiting for your answer.
Many followers — from both sides — then continued the conversation debating which side had scored a clear victory in that five-minute exchange but both leaders simply let it go (until the time of print, at least).
But many others also noticed how prelection campaign jibes had suddenly acquired polish and had become entertaining, even.
