Harshvardhan Rane keen to make a mark in Tollywood and Bollywood

The actor is awaiting the release of his big Bollywood debut movie 'Sanam Teri Kasam'.

Actor Harshvardhan Rane is all set for his Bollywood debut Sanam Teri Kasam, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. Terming his directors, “Experts in presenting people beautifully,” he says, “My character in the movie, Inder, is this brooding, raw and sombre kind of a guy, and I was pleasantly surprised that they could visualise me in such a role.”

Initially, another actor was cast for the role. So, how did he manage to bag this role, we ask, “I was in Hyderabad when I got a call from their office asking me to meet them. I knew that someone else had already been cast for this role, yet out of respect for the director-duo, I went to Mumbai and auditioned.” And before he knew, he had signed the movie. “It has been a roller coaster ride since,” he says.

Talking about his role in the movie, he tells, “Inder (his character in the movie) is a typical Mills and Boons kind of a lead, who falls in love with this beautiful girl, played by Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane.” Harsh drew inspiration for this macho character from his father. “Although, he isn’t with us anymore, I remember how he used to stand, and lean against the wall or even walk. I have tried and imbibed all those qualities and gestures into this role.”

Having acted in over seven Telugu movies till date, how different was his preparation for his Bollywood debut, “The audience will surely get to see a new me. I have bulked up for this role. There are a lot of first’s I have attempted for this movie, like my styling, physique, hairstyle, tattoo or even the intensity I have tried to maintain throughout the movie,” he adds.

He will also be seen in a movie titled Satra Ko Shaadi Hai, which is being produced by actor-turned-producer John Abraham. Sharing his experience of working with John, he says, “John is a very warm human being. He is a man of few words and was always precise. He gives me a lot of guidance whenever I need it.”

“I will continue to act in both Telugu and Hindi movies. I’m currently in talks with an award winning director and will start shooting soon,” he tells.
