X Replaces Revenue Sharing With Original Content Rewards Program

Social media platform X has announced that it is ending its Revenue Sharing program and replacing it with a new Original Content Rewards program.

The Elon Musk-owned platform will no longer accept new participants into the Revenue Sharing program. Existing participants, however, will continue to earn payouts through September 7.

Starting September 8, X will begin rolling out access for eligible creators to apply for the new Original Content Rewards program.

To qualify, users must subscribe to X Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business, have at least 500 verified followers, and receive at least 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users over the past 90 days.

According to X, the new program is designed to reward creators who produce original content. This includes original writing, threads, Articles, reporting and analysis, photos or videos created by the user, as well as memes, graphics, illustrations and other creative works designed by the creator.

The platform added that commentary also qualifies for rewards. However, if a creator's content regularly incorporates material produced by others, they must add meaningful original value for it to meet X's original content guidelines.
