WhatsApp Will Soon Let Users To Schedule Events in Private Chats

WhatsApp is also testing the ability to enable users to open View Once media on linked devices

Meta-owned WhatsApp is expanding its group chat event planning feature by allowing users to schedule events in private chats, according to a report by MacRumors.

Currently, users can create events in group chats to organize meetings. These events can be given a name, date, time, description, location, call link, and end time. Only group members can be invited to these events. This feature helps users avoid switching to other apps for organizing meetings or events.
In a similar manner, WhatsApp plans to bring this event planning feature in private chats.
Tech giant Apple is also said to be launching an iCloud-based event planning feature called “Confetti.” According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the service will offer users a “new way to invite people to parties, functions, and meetings.”
WhatsApp is also testing the ability to enable users to open View Once media on linked devices. Currently, it can only be viewed on the user’s primary registered device, and this upcoming feature will be useful for individuals who own multiple devices.
