Meta-owned WhatsApp might be introducing a new feature that will enable users to react to messages using stickers.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.13.23 update, Meta will enable this feature, allowing users to react to messages with stickers, similar to how users currently react with emojis.
This feature is currently under development for Android devices and is likely to come to iOS devices in the coming days.
As seen in the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, an emoji bar will pop up when users long-press a message, and this bar can be customized to add stickers, which can then be used to react to the message.
At present, reactions to messages are limited to emojis, but in the coming days, users will be able to react with stickers as well. WhatsApp aims to introduce stickers to help users express themselves more creatively.
The upcoming feature will support all stickers available in the sticker keyboard, including stickers downloaded from the official WhatsApp Store, as well as third-party stickers imported via external apps and previously saved stickers, the report said.
