Siri AI Features: Write with Siri, Voice Customization, and More

Apple on Monday unveiled its next-generation AI-powered Siri at the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026, introducing a more intelligent assistant capable of understanding on-screen content and retrieving information from the web when needed.

“Siri AI”, the upgraded assistant comes with a dedicated app and a new Dynamic Island-based interface, replacing the current colourful edge animation. On iPhones, users can access Siri by swiping down on the Dynamic Island, while Mac users can launch it through a dedicated app or directly from Spotlight, where Siri AI is now deeply integrated.

Apple has also expanded Siri’s voice customisation options, allowing users to choose from a wider range of voices and adjust settings such as pace and expressivity for a more personalised experience.

The new Siri can understand what is displayed on a user’s screen and use that context to provide relevant responses. When users ask questions, Siri presents information in text cards, drawing answers from web sources, messages, documents, and other content available on the device.

Siri AI is also integrated into the Camera app on iOS 27 through a dedicated mode. Users can point their iPhone camera at a receipt to split a bill instantly or scan a poster to automatically create multiple calendar events based on the information displayed.

Apple is also introducing “Write with Siri,” a feature designed to help users compose emails and messages. The tool can adapt its writing style based on how users typically communicate with specific contacts, making responses feel more natural and personalised.

Beyond writing assistance, Siri AI can handle a variety of tasks, including drafting messages, answering questions, brainstorming sessions, and helping users create detailed plans.

Additionally, Apple announced improvements to system-wide dictation. The updated feature offers greater accuracy in recognising speech, with better handling of spelling, punctuation, and capitalization for a more seamless voice-typing experience.
