Samsung to Launch Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13: What to Expect

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Galaxy S25 Edge will focus more on artificial intelligence features rather than major hardware upgrades

Samsung is set to unveil its next flagship smartphone — the Galaxy S25 Edge — in India on May 13.

The company teased the Galaxy S25 Edge at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event in San Jose, California, shortly after launching the Galaxy S25 series.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Galaxy S25 Edge will focus more on artificial intelligence features rather than major hardware upgrades.

In an interview with Bloomberg, TM Roh, the Samsung executive overseeing its smartphone division, stated that the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature the same technology as the S25 Ultra but in a slimmer design. “We’ve been trying to combine all the advantages of the S25 Ultra in a slimmer form factor,” Roh said.

“Customers want the best performance, the best camera features, the best AI, but at the same time, they want an even more attractive form factor that stands out among the pack,” he added.

Roh explained that the “Edge” name was chosen for two reasons: the thinner design and the use of more cutting-edge technology. He also revealed that the S25 Edge will be priced lower than the Ultra model.

Expected Features:

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The flagship smartphone reportedly measures just 5.8mm in thickness.

The South Korean tech giant confirmed that the device will come with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection.

It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, although some regions may receive a variant with Samsung’s Exynos processor.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is rumored to feature a dual-camera setup — a 200MP main sensor with enhanced low-light capabilities and either an ultra-wide-angle or a telephoto lens.

The device may offer 12GB of RAM and storage options from 256GB to 1TB. It is expected to run on Android 15-based One UI 7 with new AI features and voice command capabilities. Battery capacity is anticipated to be 3,900mAh, with support for 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.

As the Samsung executive previously confirmed that the S25 Edge will be priced lower than the Ultra model, we can expect the device to be priced between the S25 and the S25 Ultra.
