Samsung has paused the rollout of its One UI 7 update after a bug was discovered that prevented some Galaxy S24 users from unlocking their phones.
The issue was first reported by leaker Ice Universe, who noted that “a serious bug was found.” Despite the bug only affecting Galaxy S24 users in South Korea, Samsung has decided to halt the rollout globally.
According to reports, the company has suspended the update for all affected devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. One UI 7 had initially begun rolling out for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 on April 7.
Based on Android 15, One UI 7 was first unveiled with the Galaxy S25 series in January. The update brings several new features, including redesigned icons, new widgets, and more lock screen customization.
Users will also be able to access Google’s Gemini assistant by long-pressing the side button. Additionally, One UI 7 introduces a suite of AI-powered features such as AI Select, Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, and Audio Eraser. However, these AI features will not be available on all Samsung smartphones.
