Ray-Ban’s New Meta Smart Glasses are about to be released soon

These smart glasses have features that allow their users to capture photos and videos, listen to music, communicate hands-free, and even interact with their surroundings through the built-in AI.

Traditional Eyewear meets built-in artificial intelligence tools in the new Ray-Ban and Meta’s Smart Glasses. Meta has officially introduced these smart glasses in India, which were developed in a partnership with EssilorLuxottica under the Ray-Ban brand. These smart glasses have features that allow their users to capture photos and videos, listen to music, communicate hands-free, and even interact with their surroundings through the built-in AI.

The glasses have a 12mp ultra-wide camera, open-ear speakers, and a five-microphone array, allowing their users to take high-resolution photographs, record 1080p videos up to 60 seconds, and livestream for a first-person perspective directly on Meta’s Facebook or Instagram. The companion Meta View app also facilitates sharing content across other platforms.
Interestingly, the glasses can identify music tracks played in the background, which would be ideal in public settings like cafes and shops. The smart glasses can also play music through apps like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, which are supported by voice-enabled search options that allow users to request specific tracks, artists, or playlists.
A “Live AI” feature also monitors live camera feed to answer location-based queries without a wake command. Users can also send direct messages, place audio and video calls, and receive messages through apps such as Instagram, using simple voice commands.
But the best feature has to be its “real-time translation” feature that supports English to Spanish, French, or Italian, with the translated speech played through the open-ear speakers. A transcription option is also available. We can hope for the development into more
languages.
The Ray-Ban Meta Smart glasses are now available for buyers to pre-order via Ray-Ban’s official website. The whole collection will be available for purchase starting on the 19 th of this month. The glasses are priced starting at Rs 29,900 and are available in two styles – Wayfarer and Skyler. Buyers also have the option to choose from lens options, including sun, clear, polarised, or Transitions lenses. The glasses are compatible with prescription lenses as well.
