OpenAI has finalized a version of its AI model O3 Mini and it would be launched in a couple of weeks, said CEO Sam Altman.
In a post on X, Sam Altman said the company has considered user feedback and will launch an application programming interface (API) and ChatGPT at the same time.
In December, OpenAI said that it was testing reasoning models o3 and o3 Mini. The AI company planned to launch o3 Mini by the end of January and thereafter the o3 model.
o1 AI models were released in September 2024 and they were designed to spend more time processing queries to solve harder problems. They are capable of reasoning through complex tasks and can solve challenging problems than previous models in science, coding, and math.
Earlier, OpenAI said that o3 and o3 Mini models will be more powerful than its previous o1 models.
The company said that it was introducing a beta feature called Tasks to ChatGPT, competing with Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa.
Since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, the company has attracted investments and its growing popularity helped OpenAI close a $6.6 billion funding round in October.
