Excerpts from an interview
What inspired you to challenge traditional banking models and build a platform like Techurate from the ground up?
I’ve always believed that banking should evolve at the pace of people’s lives, not the other way around. What inspired Techurate was the realization that many financial institutions were constrained by legacy systems that limited agility, scalability, and inclusion. We set out to build a comprehensive digital banking ecosystem, not just a product, that enables banks to modernize quickly and serve customers across both urban and underserved markets. The idea was to create a flexible, future-ready platform that could power the entire banking journey end to end.
How do you balance cutting edge innovation with the human touch needed for true financial inclusion?
Techurate is a global digital banking technology company, offering a full stack “Digital Banking Universe” that combines core banking, digital channels, and advanced technologies into a unified ecosystem. Our flagship platform, Tigiverse, is designed as a modular, scalable digital services platform that supports everything from mobile and internet banking to AI-driven onboarding, open banking integrations, and even blockchain-based financial services. The company has a strong presence across multiple geographies including Africa, the Middle East, and India, and focuses particularly on enabling mid-tier banks, microfinance institutions, and underserved markets to rapidly adopt digital banking without heavy infrastructure investments. At Techurate, innovation is always rooted in real world usability. Our platforms are designed to work across diverse environments, from highly digital urban ecosystems to low connectivity rural areas. Whether it is assisted banking models, agency banking, or vernacular interfaces, we ensure that technology adapts to people, not the other way around. Inclusion is not just about access, it is about usability, trust, and familiarity in every interaction.
What has been the most surprising lesson you’ve learned while helping banks go digital across diverse regions?
One of the biggest learnings has been that digital transformation is deeply contextual. We have worked extensively across Africa, the Middle East, and India, and each market has unique challenges and opportunities. What works in one region cannot simply be replicated in another. The key is building modular, scalable platforms that can be customized to local needs while still maintaining global standards. This is where our ecosystem approach has been particularly powerful.
In your view, what separates a good fintech solution from one that truly transforms lives?
A good solution improves efficiency, but a transformative one expands access and creates opportunity. At Techurate, we focus on building full stack digital ecosystems that go beyond basic banking. For example, our platform integrates services like payments, lending, onboarding, and even financial inclusion models like agency banking, allowing institutions to reach customers who were previously outside the formal financial system. Transformation happens when technology meaningfully expands participation in the economy.
How do you see the role of emerging technologies shaping the future of banking in underserved communities?
Emerging technologies are central to the next phase of banking evolution. At Techurate, we are actively leveraging AI, machine learning, blockchain, and even immersive technologies like VR to redefine how banking is experienced. These technologies help improve onboarding, enable smarter risk assessment, and create entirely new channels of interaction. However, their real impact lies in making banking simpler, faster, and more accessible, especially in regions where traditional infrastructure is limited.
If you could redesign the global banking experience from scratch today, what would you do differently?
I would build banking as an open, interoperable ecosystem rather than a closed system. At Techurate, we strongly believe in open banking architectures and API-driven platforms that allow seamless integration with partners and services. Banking should be embedded into everyday experiences, whether through mobile, web, assisted channels, or emerging interfaces. Most importantly, it should be inclusive by design, ensuring that even the last-mile customer can access financial services effortlessly.
