In what comes as expected, Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of the next generation of the Mi Mix smartphone — the Mi Mix 2. The company made the announcement on a Weibo post showing the outline of the device with thinner bezels than the previous Mi Mix. Xiaomi claims this to be an evolution of the last year’s device, as expected from the leaks.
A few days ago, Philippe Starck, the man who designed the original Mi Mix, shared a preview video of a device under the name of the Mi Mix 2. Xiaomi’s teaser resembles a lot to the phone shown in Philippe’s video, which could mean that the final product could come with a very slim chin at the bottom housing the front camera. The Mi Mix 2 will have an unparalleled screen-to-body ratio and the curved edges will pronounce the effect it intends to achieve.
The smartphone will be unveiled on September 11, which is a day before the rumoured launch date of the highly-anticipated Apple iPhone 8.
