Google may drop Nexus' from future devices
Google had officially announced the Nexus One back in 2010. It was the first device to run the then new Android 2.1 Éclair. At that time, a device of such a nature had taken the market by a storm. Ten generations of Nexus later, it seems like Google is finally done with the ‘Nexus’ brand name.
According to reports by Android Central, Google plans on doing away with ‘Nexus.’ It will, instead, come under a different brand name. However, no specific information about what it will be called is revealed yet. The new device will feature additional software along with a revamped interface.
This move is simply running along the lines of Google’s intentions of gaining greater control over its implementation in terms of services. By doing away with ‘Nexus,’ Google will simply be able to ‘secure its own services.’
