Oppo launches 3 new smartphones in the Reno 2 series- know specs, prices
Oppo launched the Reno 2 series which would consist of three new phones- the Reno 2, Reno 2Z and the Reno 2F, at an event in New Delhi on Wednesday. While the pricing for the 2F has not been released yet, the other two phones shall retail at Rs 30,000 and Rs 37,000 for the Reno 2z and 2, respectively.
There’s a lot that’s common between the new models. All three of them will hold a 4,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging. Along with this they will also use Oppo’s custom ColorOS 6.1 which is built on top of android and support a ‘Steady Night Mode’ in the cameras as well. All three Reno phones are mid-range and show promising camera specifications and software capabilities.
The Reno 2 looks like it will be the most expensive out of the range. It comes with a Snapdragon 730 processor that clocks in at 2.2GHz with 8GB of RAM. The storage of the phone goes up to 256GB.
Front and back, the Reno 2 will have 3D curved gorilla glass and 6th Generation Gorilla Corning glass at the top. Behind there shall be a quad camera set-up laid vertically. It is made out of an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 48-megapixel IMX586 Sony sensor, a 13-megapixel camera with an 83mm-equivalent telephoto lens, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. All in all it should provide a user with 5x Zoom. The flash light stands parallel to the lenses, on their left.
On the front, the Reno 2 wields a 16 MP shark fin selfie camera, with a 6.55-inches AMOLED display. On this the three phones have a negligible difference with the other two also packing a 6.53-inches screen and a 16 MP, albeit they will have a pop-up camera and OLED display.
Inside the Reno 2Z has the MediaTek P90 processor and 256GB of onboard storage, whereas Reno 2F holds 128GB of built-in storage with MediaTek P70.
At the same time, 2Z will have a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel monochrome lens, and a 2-megapixel portrait lens for depth information. Except for having a GM1 module instead of Z’s Sony IMX586 sensor, the 2Z and 2Fhave the same camera specs.
The Reno 2 will be available in Ocean Blue and Luminous Black colours. The Reno 2Z Oppo will be offering in Sky White, Luminous Black, and Polar Light colours and the Reno 2F will be sold in just Sky White and Lake Green colours.
While the pre-orders for Oppo Reno 2Z have already begun,it will be available beginning September 6 The Oppo Reno 2 sales open September 20 and the Oppo Reno 2F will go on sale in November. All these smartphones will be sold via Flipkart, Amazon, and Oppo partner stores.
