It has been confirmed that Sony is working on two new smartphones that could make its entry in to the market in September. One of the devices has been spotted on a popular benchmarking site, revealing some of its specifications.

The Sony Xperia X Compact, which is expected to debut next month alongside the Xperia XZ, has been listed on GFXBench, confirming some salient specifications of the smartphone.

Spotted by Telefoonabonement, the new listing confirmed that the Xperia X Compact would feature a 4.6-inch display and draw power from a 2,700mAh battery. It will utilise Android 6.0.01 Marshmallow, and an Adreno 530 GPU for advanced gaming and multitasking.

The listing also indicated that the smartphone would be powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC and a USB Type-C port for charging.

Though the rumoured RAM capacity was speculated to be 3GB, the GFXBench listing shows that Sony would use a 4GB RAM for this handset. In terms of memory, the phone would offer 64GB internal storage, but nothing was mentioned about the expandable memory.

The handset will also sport a 16MP rear camera setup for capturing sharp images and an 8MP front snapper for dynamic selfies.

One of the highlights of compact devices manufactured by Sony is the compact size along with heightened specifications. The device can prove useful for people looking for a compact device with powerful specifications.

Rumours suggested that the handset could be released as soon as September 1, along with the Xperia XZ, during its presentation at IFA 2016. However, other reports suggested that both the device would make their debut on September 24.
