Xiaomi Redmi 6 Plus with iPhone X-like display notch leaked online

The Redmi 6 Plus could also feature a vertically stacked dual rear camera module, inspired from the Redmi S2.

After unveiling a string of new smartphones in 2018, Xiaomi seems to be gearing up to launch yet another Redmi series handset soon. The Chinese company took the wraps off the Redmi 5 series back in December, followed by a global launch in February. And just three months later, we are witnessing the first glimpse of its successor — the Redmi 6.

Recently, the smartphone was purportedly spotted on a Chinese certification website with model number M1805D1SE. Leaks suggest that this model could be referring to the bigger Redmi 6 Plus, which could essentially be the bigger version of the Redmi 6 series.

The Redmi 6 Plus could come with a notched display, like the current design trend in the smartphone market. However, the chin could be substantially noticeable. The Redmi 6 Plus could also feature a vertically stacked dual rear camera module, inspired from the Redmi S2.

The TENAA listing indicates the device could flaunt a 5.84-inch full HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the handset is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 625 or the latest MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. The alleged device will come in 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM with 16GB/32GB/64GB storage. Xiaomi could also stuff in a 4000mAh battery, which is a standard practice for Redmi series smartphones.

The 6 Plus could sport a 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP camera on the front. The listing hints that the phone will run on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. The company is expected to launch the new phone with the MIUI 10 that will be launched alongside the flagship Mi 8. In addition, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Plus is said to come in Black, Rose Gold, Champagne Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray, and Silver colour variants.
