Apple sacks employee after daughter's iPhone X video goes viral

The device belonged to the Apple engineer who was working on the wireless aspects of the smartphone.

Apple has fired an engineer after a hands-on video of the iPhone X made by his daughter, Brooke Amelia Peterson, went viral on Youtube. The video was published last week that shows the iPhone X in full glory. The device belonged to the Apple engineer who was working on the wireless aspects of the smartphone.

After the video went viral, the Cupertino giant took a major step to fire Peterson from his services. Brooke Amelia Peterson in her latest video claims her father has been dismissed from Apple and also explained that her father took full responsibility of giving her access to the device. Apple has also requested Peterson to pull down the video from her Youtube channel.

While you might be wondering that firing an engineer is way too extreme, but the video had footage of iPhone X's confidential information like codenames of upcoming products from Apple and special employee-only QR codes.

This isn’t the first incident where the iPhone maker has fired an engineer. Back in 2010, Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, claimed to have seen the iPad 3G before its release and the engineer that let him access the device was later sacked.

Apple iPhone X has already created ripples in the industry by bringing some top-of-the-line features and hardware. The smartphone went on pre-orders in India starting Friday on e-commerce website Flipkart and Amazon. The device is selling at a price of Rs 89,000 for the 64GB variant, while the 256GB variant is priced at Rs 1,02,000.
