LG officially unveils V40 ThinQ with five cameras

The smartphone is all set to make its debut on October 3 in New York.

LG has announced its latest flagship phablet — LG V40 ThinQ, which is a successor to the last year’s V30. The smartphone is all set to make its debut on October 3 in New York. It will be available in Carmine Red, Moroccan Blue, and Platinum Grey colour variants.

Notably, a teaser posted by LG Korea for the upcoming smartphone boasts of a total of five cameras. The video shows off a trio of rear cameras and a dual-camera setup for shooting selfies. Apart from that, the handset would also come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. While not much has been revealed by the company, a previous report suggested that the triple rear camera setup would feature a 20MP primary lens, a 16MP wide-angle lens and a 13MP telephoto lens. Furthermore, the selfie cameras are anticipated to support 3D face recognition.

If rumours are to be believed, the smartphone would feature a 6.4-inch notched display with a 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It might run on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. At its core, the handset is expected to retain the Snapdragon 845 chipset aided by up to 8GB of RAM, and LG's proprietary Quad DAC audio technology.
