MediaTek introduces quad-core MT6739 SoC at IMC 2017

The new SoC boasts an advanced WorldMode LTE Cat. 4 modem, support for 18:9 display and dual-camera photography.

MediaTek has launched its new MT6739 chip designed for the mid-range 4G ready smartphones for the Indian market at Indian Mobile Congress 2017.

The new SoC boasts an advanced WorldMode LTE Cat. 4 modem, support for 18:9 display and dual-camera photography.

The new MediaTek MT6739 chip is a quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor cloaks up to 1.5GHz. Apart from the MT6739, the company is also bringing the Helio P23 chipset to India.

MediaTek claims that the Helio P23 delivers higher performance with power efficiency, support for dual-SIM with dual 4G VoLTE functionalities.

The Helio P23 supports 13 + 13-megapixel dual camera configurations, or a single 24-megapixel sensor. It is built using the 16nm architecture, and the company claims they are ideal for the mid-range dual SIM smartphones.

The newly launched processor and the Helio P-23 will be available for the Global market by December this year, MediaTek said.
