Google Pixel 3 event postponed?
The Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL have been one of the most leaked handsets in recent times. In fact, someone is also trying to sell a stolen handset for USD 2,000 on the black market. It appears that Google is doing very little to keep the phone under wraps as almost all the specifications have been leaked. As far as the launch date goes, it was initially believed that Google would be hosting an event on October 4 to announce the handsets but now, a report by Bloomberg claims otherwise.
In an article, Bloomberg states that Alphabet Inc’s Google will be hosting an event in New York City to debut the new Google Pixel 3 devices. This information was conveyed to them by people familiar with the matter.
With the hardware being ready and no new surprises expected, it appears that Google had no plans to unveil the handsets on October 4 and the date was October 9 all along.
At the Google Pixel 3 event, there will be other devices being debuted as well. There are rumours indicating that a new Pixelbook and a Pixel Watch will also be showcased at the event.
Recently, a Russian YouTube channel which goes by the name In DIGI published an unboxing video of the Pixel 3 XL. The video, along with the 6.2-inch-display smartphone, shows all the accessories which will perhaps be offered along with the device. It consists of the USB type-C charger, wired earphones with a tiny hook to fit in the ears and data switch adapter for transferring data from one device to another. It also comes with type-C-to-3.5mm headphone connector which means, like the new iPhones, it will ditch the 3.5mm headphone port.
As far as optics go, the Google Pixel 3 XL, various leaks in the past have suggested that it will retain the 12.2MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture. It is expected that there will be two front-facing cameras, one of which will be an 8MP shooter with a f/1.8 aperture.
As the launch date looms closer, we fully well expect to see a range of leaks regarding the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.
