The latest leak in the world of smartphone rumours comes in the form of wireless charging for the upcoming iPhone 8. While you may have heard this before, the latest leak from Macotakara suggests that the iPhone 8 will come with a fast 7.5W wireless charger.
The wireless charger will support the Qi 1.2 standard to aid fast wireless charging. If this rumour tends to become the reality, then the iPhone 8 will charge faster through its wireless charger than the conventional cable charger. This could mean only two things — either Apple will include a fast wired charging facility or this is one of their ways to push people to the newer technology in the same way they did with the removal of the headphone jack on last year’s iPhone 7.
Either way, this should mean a much-needed upgrade for the iPhone as a product since rivals from the Android universe have been packing both fast charging as well as wireless charging in their flagships since the launch of the iPhone 6.
