ChampOne C1 to launch at Rs 501 with fingerprint scanner
ChampOne Communications, an Indian device manufacturing company, has announced the launch of its ChampOne C1 smartphone, which would be priced initially at just Rs 501 for promoting the device.
Ringing Bells earlier attempted to offer an ultra-affordable handset but failed miserably. The Freedom 251 is still struggling to complete its previous deliveries. However, this company would be selling the first few phones for Rs 501 and subsequently increase it to Rs 8,000 after gaining popularity.
ChampOne communication prepares to conduct a flash sale on September 2. The offer is only available via cash on delivery.Registrations for the same were open on their website from August 22 but there seemed to be a technical issue with the company’s website at the time of writing this article.
A message on the website said: “We are facing technical issue with our payment gateway partner [Ccavenue (Avenues India Pvt. Ltd.)]. You would not be able to register for the application for next 24 hours. We sincerely regret for your inconvenience and would try to get it fixed as soon as possible. Thank you for your support.”
To fulfil their mission to provide affordable handset in India, ChampOne Communications has also categorised their smartphone under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD display, powered by MediaTek MT6736 1.3Ghz quad-core processor along with 2GB RAM.
The handset will accompany 16GB of internal storage space along with an option to expand it to 64GB via external microSD card. An 8MP rear camera will take care of images and a 5MP front snapper has been incorporated for selfies.
The smartphone will support fingerprint scanning, which has become a ground rule that most major manufacturers follow these days. However, offering those initial handsets would really pinch a deep hole in the company’s pocket due to the low promotional pricing.
