OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3T to receive Android O before the end of year
OnePlus has confirmed to roll out Google’ latest operating system Android O to its OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 3T models before the end of year. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had earlier confirmed launch of Android O to both the devices, but the recent announcement by the firm hints at Android’s release date to these models.
The new Android version is yet to receive its name. Recent reports suggest that letter ‘O’ could stand for ‘Oatmeal Cookie’, brushing off earlier rumoured name ‘Oreo’.
OnePlus 5 was launched last week in India priced at Rs 32,999 for 6GB RAM/64GB variant and Rs 37,999 for 8GB RAM/128GB. The handset is available for purchase through Amazon India website. While the OnePlus 3T was launched early this year in India priced at Rs 34,999 for 128GB storage variant. The two models currently run on Android Nougat OS.
The public beta version of Android O’s is already available for Pixel and Nexus users. Interested, can try the version by registering on the Android beta program website.
