Samsung's new Galaxy spotted
Samsung has been rumoured to be working on a new Galaxy A5 model and the smartphone has been touted to be announced as soon as December this year. The Galaxy A5 (2017) could be unveiled together with the Galaxy A3 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017).
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) had previously received Wi-Fi certification and was recently spotted on a benchmarking website (Geekbench) by Android Pure. This led to its specs being revealed which means the phone will be launched soon.
Android Authority and @OnLeaks have released a set of renders and spec list for the upcoming Galaxy A5 (2017), where some designs do stand out. The smartphone appears to have rounded edges, reminiscent of the Galaxy S7.
The device, from the renders, looks as if it’s made out of metal and glass. It might appear that the mid-range device could actually borrow elements of design from this year’s flagship, the Galaxy S7.
The previous Galaxy A5 had come with design elements from the Galaxy Note 4. The back panel also resembled the Galaxy S6, but it seems that this year’s model will actually look like the Galaxy S7.
Carrying a model number SM-A520F, the phone is slated to have a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. Powered by an Exynos 7880 processor, with four 1.87 GHz Cortex-A72 and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.3GHz the A5 will have 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Battery capacity will be 300mAh and the phone could run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The renders also show that the phone will also have a side-mounted speaker and USB Type-C port.
