Apple may launch three iPhone 8' models with all glass back
Apple started selling its latest iPhone flagship— iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus last month and speculations about its next flagship ‘iPhone 8’ are already gaining grounds online.
According to Nikkei Asian Review, Apple will launch three variants of iPhone 8 sporting 4.7-, 5- and 5.5-inch display with glass backs.
A Nikkei Asian source revealed all iPhone 8 variants will have glass backs likely to be supplied by China’s Biel Crystal Manufactory and Lens Technology.
Apple iPhone models used to sport all glass back, and then the company switched to aluminium back with the launch of iPhone 5 in the year 2012.
Apple has reportedly sold 45.5 million iPhone units in the fourth-quarter, 5 per cent fewer iPhones (about 48 million iPhones) it sold in the same period a year earlier.
The new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus aren’t sporting a radical change from the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models introduced two years ago. Analysts said customers are holding onto their old iPhones for longer, seeing little reason to buy a new model with minor upgrades. They say Apple customers are waiting for a big upgrade, which is expected to be witnessed on Apple 10th Anniversary next year.
