Samsung may launch trio of Galaxy S10s next year

In a bid to be on par with Apple, Samsung may debut three different sized Galaxy S10s in 2019.

Over the last few days, there have been a lot of leaks and rumours surrounding Samsung’s first 2019 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S10. The last we heard about this handset is that it would come with a triple lens system on the rear.

The latest bit of information indicates that Samsung will not launch two handsets but a trio of Galaxy S10s in response to the rumours that Apple will debut three iPhones this year.

According to a report, Samsung is planning a lineup with three different models, the biggest of which will also include the most extensive upgrades. The report denotes that it currently goes under three codenames — Beyond 0, Beyond 1 and Beyond 2. Beyond 0 is said to feature a 5.8-inch flat display with no curved edges. It will have a single camera at the back and is expected to be the more affordable alternative to the premium-priced Galaxy S10.

Beyond 1 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch Infinity Display with dual-curved edges that are similar to the Galaxy S9. It is believed that with this handset, Samsung could employ a dual-camera system on the rear.

Beyond 2 will be marketed as the flagship device and it is believed that this handset will come equipped with a 6.2-inch display and a triple-camera system at the back. It is believed that Samsung could go for an approach similar to the one used by Huawei for the P20 Pro and use a mix of a variable aperture lens, with telephoto and wide-angle sensor.

As of now, these are merely rumours and there is still some time before the handsets get launched so Samsung may change plans about releasing these features or the number of handsets.
