Apple could kill Galaxy Note 8 by adding Pencil support to iPhone

Apple has described in a new patent called Noise Correction for a Stylus Touch Device that smartphones will be supporting the stylus.

The Cupertino giant seems to be gearing up to add the Apple Pencil support beyond the iPad Pro. According to a new report by PatentlyApple, Apple is already in works to make this technology work on other Apple devices.

The move doesn’t come as a surprise, as CEO Tim Cook himself praised the mix last year suggesting that the company can add support for the stylus. “If you’ve ever seen what can be created with that pencil on an iPad or an iPhone, it’s really unbelievable,” he said.

Apple has already described in a new patent called “Noise Correction for a Stylus Touch Device” that smartphones will be supporting the stylus. The iPhone has been listed as a target product for the stylus.

It’s imperative to note that not all patents see the light of day, but Apple seems to be going in the direction of making this happen. The forthcoming iOS 11 is also said to have an expanded support for the Pencil, including options to create annotations on websites and edit screenshots.

Apple is also reportedly looking into bringing numerous iPad features to its flagship smartphone, including the support for accessories with Smart Connector. A Pro variant of the iPhone is also said to be in works and can come to life next year, as this year’s line up includes iPhone 7 and 7 Plus alongside the 10th anniversary iPhone 8.
