Samsung Galaxy S8 launch expected in February 2017

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a 4K display which is compatible with Google's Daydream VR platform.

Samsung is set to unveil its Galaxy Note 7 in the upcoming weeks, but the company is also working some other projects including company’s next flagship Galaxy S8.

According to some rumours, the company may be launching the Galaxy S8 in February next year during MWC. The smartphone is codenamed as Project Dream, which also hints at Google’s Daydream VR platform.

If rumors are to be believed, Samsung is creating the Galaxy S8 with Daydream in mind, since the smartphone is said to sport a 4K display, which would make it compatible with Google's platform.

There isn’t much information about other specifications of the Galaxy S8, apart from the 4K display. The company has already shown off a prototype of a 5.5-inch 4k AMOLED display with 806ppi, but it's unclear at this point if the prototype will be featured on the Galaxy S8.

Some rumors say that the Galaxy S8 may be coming with Snapdragon 830 processor, which has yet to be released. Samsung has reportedly released a new Gear VR for the price of €90, but specs and other details are yet to be confirmed.
