OPPO F7 with iPhone X-like notch, 25MP selfie camera launched in India
OPPO has launched a new selfie-centric smartphone — F7 in India at an event in Mumbai. A successor to the F5, the OPPO F7 is targeted at the selfie fanatics, along with the people who want an iPhone X-like design on an Android smartphone. The OPPO F7 bears a notch at the top similar to what we have seen on iPhone X, however, with a smaller size.
As for the specifications, the OPPO F7 flaunts a 6.23-inch FHD full-screen display 2.0 with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The dual-SIM phone runs ColorOS 5.0, based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core chipset paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of onboard storage, expandable up to 256GB.
On the photography front, the F7 sports a single 16MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.8 along with AI scene recognition features. Being a selfie-oriented smartphone, a 25MP (f/2.0 ) selfie camera commands with real-time HDR and AI Beauty 2.0. The Beauty 2.0 claims it can scan 296 facial recognition points, allowing more accurate facial recognition capabilities.
The F7 bears a rear fingerprint sensor and supports a 'facial unlock' too. The F7 is fuelled by a 3400mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the F7 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG, 4G VoLTE, and GPS/ A-GPS. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.
The smartphone comes in two colour variants — Solar Red and Moonlight Silver. Additionally, the company has also launched special edition variants — the OPPO F7 Diamond Black and OPPO F7 Sunrise Red which will be available via select OPPO stores.
The OPPO F7 carries a price tag of Rs 21,990 for 4GB RAM variant and Rs 26,990 for 6GB of RAM. The device will be available for purchase via online and offline platforms from April 9. Moreover, OPPO is also holding a special 24-hour flash sale on April 2. As for the cashback offers, customers will get an additional 120GB 4G data from Jio and up to Rs 1,200 cashback in 12 months. During the flash sale, customers will get 5 percent cashback on purchasing via ICICI credit cards.
