Sony Xperia XZ1 with 3D scanning camera launched in India for Rs 44,990
Sony has announced the launch of its second flagship release for this year, the Sony Xperia XZ1, in India with a price tag of Rs 44,990. The phone was first unveiled to the world at the annual IFA 2017 tech trade show held in Berlin last month, alongside the Xperia XZ1 Compact and Xperia XA 1 Plus.
Out of the two, the XA 1 Plus model was launched last week in India while the XZ1 Compact is being expected to arrive in the country soon as well.
Xperia XZ1 features a 5.2-inch full HD IPS LCD display with X-Relaity Engine, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection atop. It is powered by Qulacomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with a 64G storage option, which is expandable up to 256GB via a micro SD card. It packs a 2700mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
A 19MP Motion Eye camera with 3D scanning abilities, and the fact, it is the first smartphone to arrive with pre-installed Android Oreo OS in India, are the highlights of the phone. The rear 19MP sensor has an electronic image stabilisation, predictive phase detection and laser autofocus and LED flash and can record 960fps supple slow-motion videos at 720p resolution. The 13MP front supports 1080p video recording.
To enhance the usage of 3D scanning abilities of its rear camera, Sony has also introduced a 3D Creator feature that allows users to 3D scan subjects and print them on 3D printer.
The phone is IP68 water and dust resistant and comes in four different colours — Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver and Black.
