The Pangu team, which has released several jailbreaks in the past, said that the new jailbreak for the current iOS versions will be available just as upcoming iOS 10 is rendered available. However, it is also mentioned on their official page that the jailbreak is only for 64-bit devices.
The jailbreak will be supported by a slew of Apple devices starting iPhone 5s and newer devices, iPod Touch 6G, and iPad Mini 2 and other newer tablets.
Though users already know the quandaries related to rooting an iPhone, Pangu has given further instructions on their page asking users to be extremely cautions while completing the process.
The team said, “Due to the model change of jailbreak, some tweaks may not be able to work on iOS 9.2 – iOS 9.3.3, and even brick your iOS devices. Be cautious with the tweaks you want to install, and make sure you already made a full backup of your iOS devices.”
That said, the team has successfully tested the new tool on all compatible devices but still recommended users to back up their handsets before starting the process.
Over the years, jailbreaking has lost its charm as compared to the times when iPhone 3G and 3GS were at their prime. Now Apple has radically diverted from its walled-garden approach and made the situation liberal for users looking to download handy apps and games, which were not available earlier.
In such a scenario, jailbreaking should be avoided but if you have to access to exclusive apps that are not available on iOS app Store, you can ‘carefully’ give it a shot.
