MWC 2016: Zopo announces smartphone with deca-core CPU

The highlighting factor of this device is the deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset.

Mumbai: Chinese smartphone maker Zopo has launched the first ever smartphone with deca-core chipset. MediaTek’s Helio X20—the world’s first ten-core chipset—powers the Zopo Speed 8.

A lot of Indians might be hearing the name of the company for the first time and there is no confirmation if the device will be available in India or not. Moreover, no information regarding the price has been revealed as of now.

According to reports, the Zopo Speed 8 features a 5.5-inch capacitive HD screen and is excellent for multimedia viewing.

The smartphone will ship with the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0 OS out of the box; however, users can expect customisations as well. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a deca-core MediaTek MT6797 Helio X20 chipset coupled with a Mali-TT80 MP4 GPU, and 4GB RAM. With this configuration, the handset seems truly capable of being a flagship.

The smartphone offers 32GB onboard storage that can be expanded via microSD slot. In terms of camera, the device comes along with a 21MP primary camera setup that features Sony’s IMX230 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and dual-LED flash. On the front, there is a 8MP secondary selfie camera with dual-LED flash as well.

Moreover, the handset employs a 3,600mAh battery with fast charging technology. The Zopo Speed 8 also comes with usual flagship-like features such as fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, NFC, 4G LTE, and GPS.
