Xiaomi Mi 5 in Black, Gold on sale now
Xiaomi has announced the Black and Gold colour variants of the flagship Mi 5 in India starting June 24, 2016. The device is just a colour variant and has no difference in specifications. The Mi 5 Black and Gold variants will start sales from 10 am on June 24, 2016 and will be available on Mi.com, Amazon and Flipkart. However, Mi.com is still showing the products out of stock. Xiaomi’s Global VP Hugo Barra announced the sale of the Black Mi 5 on Facebook.
The Mi 5 looks elegant in a completely black body. The device is crafted with an aircraft-grade curved aluminium chassis and a glossy black front display on the black variant and similarly in gold front and back for the Gold variant.
Xiaomi had launched the Flagship Mi 5 in India in March and the device was only available in White colour. However, many fans and smartphone consumers in India have a preference for black coloured handset variants. In addition to the black variant, the company is also selling the Mi 5 in Gold colour.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset clocked with 1.8GHz processors and clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The dual SIM device sports a 5.15-inch full HD LCD display and features a 16MP Sony IMX298 sensor on the rear along with an optical image stabiliser and LED flash. The front camera sports a 4MP sensor with 2 micron pixels. Weighing around 129g, the Mi 5 packs in a 3000mAh battery in its 7.25mm slim body. The Xiaomi Mi 5 also sports a USB Type-C port with Quick Charge 2.0, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi ac, and supports VoLTE.
