Samsung's 'Made in India' Tablet to launch tomorrow
Mumbai: Samsung is all set to launch a new ‘Made in India’ Galaxy tablet at an event in New Delhi on Wednesday, May 25, according to an invitation sent out by the company to several media outlets.
While the invite does not mention anything about a new tablet, the company have been rumoured to have been working on a new 7-inch tablet. Several media reports pointed out the new tablet will be manufactured in India, under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
According to feature info coming from the rumour mills, the 7-inch Galaxy Tab A tablet will have a resolution of 1280x800, 1.3GHz processor along with 1.5GB RAM; 8GB of expandable storage, and a 5MP primary camera.
All this will be backed up by a 4,000mAh battery and the handset will utilise Android’s Lollipop operating system.
The aforementioned information clearly states that the device will specifically target the budget segment and will have a low price. The move to introduce a budget tablet in a market like India can be beneficial for the company at a time when large-screen smartphones and 2-in-1 PCs are stealing most of the spotlight.
It will be interesting to see the reception it gets from the market but for the time being, lets wait till tomorrow and find out if its really worth the hype. Stay tuned for real-time updates from the event to tomorrow.
