Huawei launches P20 Pro with triple camera, P20 Lite with 'Notched' display

The Huawei P20 Pro costs Rs 64,999, whereas the P20 Lite costs Rs 19,999 in India.

Huawei has finally launched its latest premium flagship smartphone — P20 Pro in India. The biggest USP of the smartphone is its AI-powered triple rear camera setup which claims to excel in all scenarios irrespective of lighting conditions. Alongside, the company has also launched a mid-segment smartphone dubbed Huawei P20 Lite in India. The P20 Pro and P20 Lite feature a metal and glass unibody design and run Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 layered atop.

The P20 Pro boasts a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2240 pixels along with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. At the heart, it runs an AI-based Kirin 970 octa-core chipset with a neural processing unit (NPU). The chipset is coupled with 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant.

On the photography front, the triple rear camera setup features a 40MP primary RGB sensor, a 20MP monochrome sensor and an 8MP telephoto sensor. The camera has a light sensitivity up to ISO 102400 and alongside the 3X optical zoom, it offers 5x hybrid zoom for long-range photography and 960fps slow-motion videos in HD (720p) resolution. Up front, there is a 24MP front camera.

The P20 Pro comes with a 360-degree Face Unlock feature which is said to unlock the device in about 0.6 seconds. The smartphone draws its power from a 4000mAh battery with SuperCharge fast charging technology. The phone is IP67 water and dust resistance.

Huawei P20 Lite

Coming to the Huawei P20 Lite, the smartphone features a 5.84-inch full HD+ display with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The device has a 2.5D subtle curved glass design. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset clubbed with 4GBRAM/64GB storage variant, which is expandable up to 256GB.

In terms of optics, the P20 Lite features a vertically-placed 16MP+2MP dual rear camera setup and a 24MP front shooter with support for AR-based stickers. The P20 Lite is backed by a 3000mAh battery. The handset supports face unlock feature too.

As for the pricing, The Huawei P20 Pro costs Rs 64,999, whereas the P20 Lite costs Rs 19,999 in India. The devices will be exclusively available on Amazon India from May 3, 2018.
