Samsung Galaxy S8 detailed specs revealed

Samsung is expected to unveil Galaxy S8 at an event in New York in March.

As Samsung is preparing to unveil some of its future products at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, leaks about its next generation smartphone Galaxy S8 are doing rounds on the internet.

While Samsung is speculated to share some information about the handset at the event, continues flow of information is surfacing online before any official announcement by the firm itself.

Samsung will be revealing two models of Galaxy S8, a standard Galaxy S8 and a bigger Galaxy S8 Plus.

A newly leaked information revealing specification of the two handsets have emerged online. According to which, the two models will only differ by their screen size. Where the standard model will feature a 5.8-inch screen, the Plus variant will have a 6.2-inch screen size.

Both the smartphones will be 4G LTE capable, sport 12MP dual pixel rear camera and an 8MP front camera. In terms of capacity, they will offer 4GB RAM with 64GBof memory storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card.

The models will include an iris scanner, will be IP68 certified, and will feature Samsung Pay and wireless charging via a charging pad.

An earlier leaked suggested that Samsung will bring an on-screen home button on the devices, ditching the physical one.

Based on a listing found online, the two smartphones are rumoured to be launched in three colour variants, including Black, Gold, and Orchid Gray.

Moreover, Galaxy S8 and S8+ could carry a price tag of $950 (approx. Rs 64,000) and $1050 (approx. Rs 70,000) respectively.

Samsung is expected to unveil Galaxy S8 at an event in New York in March, which will go on sale starting April 21.
