Samsung working on Galaxy S10 with 6 cameras, 5G: Report

This top-of-the-line version will be a fourth version of the flagship and launch at a later date.

At MWC 2019, Samsung is widely expected to launch its 2019 flagship — Galaxy S10. Over the past couple of months, leaks and rumours of this handset have been trickling in, giving us an idea about some of the features that may be included in the handset. The biggest and most widely accepted rumour is that Samsung may be launching three variants of the Galaxy S10. It will launch a budget-friendly version that is said to be 5.8-inches and two premium versions that are said to measure 5.8-inches and 6.4-inches. Now, a report by WSJ states that there will be the fourth version of the handset and it is said to come with 6 cameras, 5G connectivity and boast a 6.7-inch display.

As per the report, the six cameras that will come loaded on the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be divided as two on the front and four on the rear. This contradicts previous rumours which claimed that the 5G variant will boast two cameras on the front and three on the back. The report from WSJ does not go into details as to what features the cameras would entail but it is said to be able to produce “richer photos and spatial perception.” Previous rumours that suggested the three camera setup pointed to a similar configuration that is found on the Galaxy S9 with the third camera featuring a 120-degree wide-angle lens.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 in question is also believed to be featuring reverse wireless charging, a feature that is currently found on the Huawei flagship — Mate 20 Pro. The last and probably the most interesting feature that will appear on this handset is the inclusion of 5G. However, even if the feature is added it all depends on the carriers and when they officially switch to the upcoming standard.
