Monster gaming device ASUS ROG Phone 2 launched in India: Full specs, price, offers

The highly awaited premium gaming smartphone ASUS ROG Phone II was launched in India today, at an event in New Delhi along with a number of very exciting announcements from the company. A number of the phones’ accessories from its international launch have also come to India with today’s event.

The announced accessories are Kunai Game Pad, Aero Active Cooler, Professional Dock, TwinView II, Mobile Desktop Dock, 30 Watt Charger with Type C to Type C Cable, and the Lighting Armor Case. Moreover ASUS announced a phone case exclusively for Indian buyers of the product, which will be packed along with the phone and its accessories needless to say, at no extra cost. These can be purchased separately as well.

Going for sale from the 30^th of September, the phone will have a launch price of Rs 37,999 for its 8GB RAM / 128 GB storage variant and Rs 59,999 for its 12GB RAM / 512 GB storage variant. The phone shall exclusively retail on Flipkart, and will be available at a 10 per cent discount on select credit and debit cards. There shall also be a 6 Month No Cost EMI option to buy the phone.

Expected to be a class defining, gaming phone, the model is the first with the Qualcomm Snadragon 855+ SoC as well as a 120Hz/1ms 10-bit HDR 6.59-inches AMOLED display. Its graphics are provided by the new Qualcomm Adreno 640 GPU and the systems cooling is facilitated by the GameCool II multi-level cooling system with a large 3D vapor-chamber. Further, the AeroActive Cooler II accessory will have fan blades that deliver even more airflow into the ROG Aerodynamic System, and which can fit over the bundled ROG Phone Aero Case

The phone’s 30Watt Type C to Type C charger will power its 6000mAh battery, supporting HyperCharge technology. Meanwhile other accessories like the mobile desktop dock and the ROG Kunai Gamepad can be used to provide physical console-like gamepad controls.

The company had previously announced some exciting partnerships with game developers like GameLoft, Blazing Games Inc., Capcom, and MADFINGER Games. A press release from the company elaborated upon these partnerships.

GameLoft’s ‘Asphalt 9: Legends’ game will be preloaded on ROG Phone II with an optimized version of the game taking full advantage of the TwinView Dock II The game is also optimized for ROG Phone II and they will be able to unlock the Porsche 911 Carrera S in its special livery free as an exclusive reward.

Japanese games producer, Blazing Games Inc. is expected to launch Project VEGA during the first half of 2020. The company will launch a role-playing game (RPG) optimized for ROG Phone II and the TwinView Dock II, Dual Surrounding Vibration and Aura RGB lighting. All ROG Phone II users will get exclusive in-game content from launch, as well as exclusive early access to a Closed Beta Test.

With Capcom, from September 12, ROG Phone II users can enjoy the Closed Beta Test of ROCKMAN X DiVE. After ROCKMAN X DiVE officially launches, it will include an exclusive custom weapon for ROG Phone II users, while ROG Phone II users will also enjoy optimizations for the ROG Kunai Gamepad and 120Hz display.

MADFINGER Games’, Shadowgun Legends is optimized for ROG Phone II, TwinView Dock II, ROG Kunai Gamepad, and Dual Surrounding Vibration. All ROG Phone II users will get access to exclusive customized suits and weapons.
