Android One for Rs 9,999: Infinix Note 5 with 4500mAh battery unveiled

The Infinix Note 5 boasting Android One and coming with a 5.99-inch full HD+ display debuts with an attractive price.

After a host of successful launches in the Indian market that includes the Hot 6 Pro and the recently reviewed Smart 2, Infinix has launched the Note 5. For the latest handset, Infinix has partnered with Google to launch its first Android One handset. This smartphone is priced attractively in India with the 3GB/ 32GB version retailing for Rs 9,999 and the 4GB/64GB version costing Rs 11,999. The Infinix Note 5 will go on sale on Flipkart starting from 12 pm on August 31. The handset will be available in Milan Black, Berlin Gray and Ice Blue.

The main USP of this handset is that it is an Android One handset, with it running a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo. The Infinix Note 5 comes with a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 display that sports a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The display features an impressive 85 per cent screen-to-body ratio and has a 2.5D curved glass layer on top. The handset is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 octa-core SoC that’s clocked at 2.2Ghz. The storage capacity can be expanded up to 128GB by way of a microSD card.

As far as optics go, the Note 5 comes with a 12MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and it has an aperture value of f/2.0. The rear camera comes with ASD mode, Portrait mode with AI-based features. There is also an Auto scene detection that automatically adjusts the brightness and contrast. For selfies, there is a 16MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The front camera comes with AI bokeh and AI beauty mode.

Infinix has added a 4500mAh battery on the Note 5 that comes with fast charge support. For security, Infinix has included a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the device. Connectivity for the handset includes dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB OTG.

Being an Android One device, the Infinix Note 5 will get timely software updates. This means that it should be getting the latest Android 9 Pie in the not too distant future.
