Huawei introduces the Nova 5 series!

The basic Huawei Nova 5 is the first to be equipped with Huawei’s new 7nm Kirin 810 chipset.

Since their arrival, Huawei has set a great reputation with consistently delivering in all segments of the smartphone market. And with every passing day, Huawei successfully keeps us on our toes with stunning innovation and an eye for detail creativity. Huawei has yet again done it as they have introduced the Huawei Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5i, officially announcing their new Nova 5 series on Friday at a press event in China. Huawei has introduced us with some pretty convenient smartphones in the year 2019, such as the P30 series but for a mid-range market, Huawei has announced the Nova 5 series.

The basic Huawei Nova 5 is the first to be equipped with Huawei’s new 7nm Kirin 810 chipset, its octa-core chipset offers two 2.27Ghz Cortex-A76 cores and six 1.88Ghz Cortex-A55 cores. Meanwhile, the SoC also offers a Mali-G52 GPU for improved graphical performance. But the game changer here is probably the NPU, bringing dedicated AI silicon to Huawei’s mid-range chipsets for the first time. Next on the lineup is the Nova 5 Pro, which will have an octa-core Kirin 980 SoC rather than the former.

The Nova 5 series will also feature a quad rear camera setup, offering a 48MP main camera, 16MP ultra-wide shooter, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro camera, a 32MP f/2.0 front camera in a waterdrop notch for clicking selfies. The new series will sport a 6.39inch full HD+OLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The two phones come equipped of an 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage, which uses Huawei's EROFS filesystem, they offer 20 per cent better performance than the EXT filesystem that is present on many Android smartphones. The phones will get a 3,500mAh battery with 40W fast charging support.

Coming to the Nova 5i, it will run on Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.1 and will pack a 6.4inch full-HD+ (1080x2310 pixels) screen. It will be powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. A quad camera setup here as well, a 24-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2-megapixel 4cm macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is a 24-megapixel selfie camera on the front as well with an f/2.0 lens. The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery, 128GB of onboard storage with a microSD card slot (up to 512GB), and a rear fingerprint sensor.

According to Huawei, the Huawei Nova 5 Pro price will start at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 30,100), the Nova 5 will be priced at CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 28,100) and the Honor Nova 5i price will start at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,100).
