iOS 10 bug' triggers poor battery life on older iPhones
Apple made the all new iOS 10 available for download a few days after its special launch event. As people started downloading the new OS, several iPhone users have flooded social media with complaints related to poor battery life after installing the new OS.
According to reports, the most affected phone was the older iPhone 5s but owners of newer models such as the iPhone 6 also complained of the same issue.
On the contrary, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus users have reported healthier battery life, so it is a problem affecting only the older models. However, some Reddit users pointed out that the iPhone 6s is also suffering from battery life issues.
One user said: “My 6s has been down to 10-20 per cent for several days in a row by 4 pm with only 2-3 hours of usage. Safari took 32 per cent of my battery today in 39 minutes. I'm on iOS 10.0.1.”
Apple has not yet publicly acknowledged the issue and it’s not even clear if the issue is a wide-spread one but a fix should be provided soon nonetheless.
One of the solutions that can minimise the problem involves resetting the iPhone but the process — back up, reset, restore — can get hectic. You can either wait for the fix or reset you device.
