Slated to launch on the 29th of this month, photos and videos of the Redmi Note 8 smartphone have already leaked online. Shortly after the leak, Redmi’s general manager Lu Weibing confirmed the phone’s launch date through a post on Chinese social networking site, Weibo however there was no response to the leaks.
The pictures depict the 8th generation model of the Note series to have a quad or triple camera set-up with a fingerprint scanner. This cannot be confirmed since a part of the camera bump is covered by a finger however it is aligned to the centre unlike the Note 7 Pro’s left alignment. The model, seen in a metallic black colour, also seems to be covered by a glass body. A low-angle image of the phone reveals that it has a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a single speaker grill on the opposite side.
The model might also have featured in a tik tok video, where its NFC feature is also demonstrated. It cannot be confirmed whether the phone is the Redmi Note 8 or the Note 8 Pro since the label is partially hidden.
Weibing had previously posted using the Note 8 and stated that the smartphone in his hand offers a longer battery life, higher screen-to-body ratio and takes clearer images. While the launch is to happen in almost a week, it is clear that the internet cannot contain its hunger for details....
