Coolpad launches the Cool Play 6 for Rs 14,999 with dual cameras
Coolpad has recently launched the Cool Play 6 in India. The smartphone is slated to retail for a price tag of Rs 14,999. The Cool Play 6 is the successor of the Coolpad Cool 1 which had arrived with dual cameras and strong battery life. The Play 6 arrives in a highly competitive segment of the market dominated by established players like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and the Moto G5 Plus.
The Cool Play 6 comes with a full metal design and runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with Coolpad’s new Journey UI on top. Coolpad has stated that the smartphone will receive the Android O update by December, 2017.
On the back is a dual camera unit and the front houses a glass design with 5.5-inch display with capacitive buttons for back, home and recent applications which are backlit as well.
Internals of the Cool Play 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 653 chipset running on 8 blades. The processor consists of 4 high-powered ARM Cortex A72 cores and 4 ARM Cortex A53 cores for less intensive tasks. Internal storage of the Cool Play 6 is 64GB.
Display on the Coolpad Cool 6 is a 5.5-inch full HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a pixel density of 403 ppi.
The dual camera setup at the rear with two 13MP cameras with Sony sensors and a dual LED flash is similar to the dual camera implementation on Huawei smartphones. One of the cameras is a RGB sensor while other is a monochrome sensor. Both have an aperture of f/2.0.
The Cool Play 6 is available for Rs 14,999 and will be available in two colors — Gold and Black. The smartphone is slated to go on sale from September 4 exclusively via Amazon India.
