Infinix S4 to take on Redmi Y3 with 32MP selfie camera and triple rear cameras

The brand has also launched the Infinix smart fitness band with colour display and multiple health variables monitoring capabilities.

Close on the heels of the launch of Smart 3 Plus, Infinix, a premium smartphone brand from TRANSSION Holdings, has announced the launch of its latest device the S4. Carrying on the success story of Smart 3 Plus, S4 promises the best camera experience in its category, besides introducing several premium features at a competitive price point. Infinix S4 will be the first smartphone in its segment with a 32MP selfie camera and a 13MP+2MP+8MP Triple Rear Camera with a wide-angle lens. The front camera features the largest selfie camera sensor-size in its segment apart from being equipped with AI-enabled auto scene detection and beautification. The phone is currently available in colours of Nebula Blue, Twilight Purple and Space Gray. It is available in 3+32GB variants with a 3-in-1 card slot that can support dedicated micro SD card slot up to 256GB.

S4’s AI selfie camera gives out the perfect images through a combination of cutting-edge and first-in-class technologies. The S4 selfie camera has the biggest sensor size of 1/2.8inch in the segment and it uses 4-in-1 Ultra pixel technology to bring 1.6μm big pixel. Beauty mode analysed through 256 facial points, AI Portrait is some of the features that place S4 way ahead of its competitors. S4’s portrait selfie feature uses AI to identify and highlight the subject of the image, resulting in detailed, clear and stunning picture quality. It also clicks a good low-light selfie with f2.0 aperture and screen flash.

On the rear, S4 comes with a 13MP primary lens with f1.8 big aperture, 2MP depth sensor and 8MP wide-angle lens. The ultra-wide angle lens allows for much wider image capture as compared to other phones. Through its 120-degree wide angle lens instead of the 78o lens used in most smartphones, S4 allows for perfect group pictures without much squeezing in or space adjustment. It solves a major pain point of smartphone users in India, where 6 out of 10 pictures taken with mobiles are selfies, a majority of them being group photographs. In fact, 66 per cent users in India state ‘fitting in everybody in one frame’ as the biggest issue they face. With Customizable Bokeh, users can control the amount of blur they want to make the subject stand out better. With Quad-LED flash option rather than Dual-LED, S4 is able to offer better picture quality even in poor light conditions. It comes with auto scene detection across eight modes including portrait, text, night, backlight HDR, blue sky, sports and others.

S4 comes with large 6.21-inch HD+ drop notch screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio that gives end-to-end access of the screen with 89 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It has a sleek structure with a width of just 7.9mm and weighs at 155g. S4’s 500 nits brightness and 1300:1 contrast ratio brings out the best in videos. The device has a Dual 2.5D glass body on both sides and its curved edges merge with the display screen. A golden rim around the cameras and the sparkling effect of the colours enhances its subtle charm. The phone’s design developed through a 6-stage analysis process that evaluated various parameters to offer comfortable handling and pleasing aesthetics.

S4 is a completely performance-oriented phone, built to suit the multi-tasking and heavy usage needs of current smartphone users. It runs on Android Pie 9.0, boosted by XOS 5.0 Cheetah OS layer. XOS 5.0 makes the ‘Infinix’ experience stand out, by enabling fast and intuitive user engagement experience. A 4000mAh Battery with AI-enabled smart power management and 12nm Helio P22 2.0GHz Octa-Core Processor guarantees a smooth performance even with continuous usage over a long period. S4’s unique AI enabled operations enable intelligent load deduction and dynamic re-allocation of system resources. This helps to facilitate seamless execution of heavy activities, for instance playing PUBG or other games. Additionally, Fingerprint Sensor and Face Unlock features that detect 1024 facial points ensure complete security which is a priority for many smartphone users today.

This handset is available in the market and priced at Rs 8,999.
