World's smallest Android smartphone equips 2.4-inch display, costs Rs 3,300
Mumbai: While large-screened devices continue to reap most of the plaudits among modern day handsets, there are users who still adore small, candy-shaped handsets, which are almost non-existent in the Android device landscape.
Although Android-based handsets are usually bulky and over 5-inch on most occasions, a company has launched what seems to be the world’s smallest Android-based device with a 2.4-inch screen.
The new pebble-shaped Posh Mobile Micro X S240 is the smallest Android-based device, which cost roughly Rs 3,300 ($50). The device is currently available on Amazon.com.
While the specs on this device are rather disappointing, it is still an appealing smartphone for people with a thing for small handsets. The Micro X S240 accompanies a 2.4-inch TFT LCD capacitive display with 16 million colours.
Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek processor, along with 512MB RAM, and 4GB internal storage that can be further expanded to 32GB via external microSD.
Other than that, it also packs a 2MP primary camera (without flash) on the back with video recording capabilities, as well as a VGA secondary camera. Also, it employs a rather small 650mAh battery, which the company claimed can provide four hours of talk time.
The device runs on Android’s 4.4 (Kitkat) OS, which is two generations old, but fit for a low-end device. Customers will be able to choose from black, white, blue, and pink color options; however, Amazon is only ship this device in the US.
