Quad-eyed Samsung Galaxy A9 is now official

The biggest highlight of the Samsung's latest smartphone is its four camera setup at the back.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy A9 (2018) and its biggest highlight is its quad rear camera setup. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The handset runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. The Galaxy A9 flaunts a 6.3-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

On the photography front, the smartphone features a quad rear camera setup, comprising of a 24MP f/1.7 sensor, a 10MP f/2.4 telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, an 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide sensor with a 120-degree lens, and a 5MP f/2.2 depth sensor. The handset is claimed to recognise 19 different scenes and optimise colour settings to produce better shots. Upfront, there is a 24MP f/2.0 shooter. The device offers features such as Selfie Focus and Pro-Lighting, along with an AR Emoji feature.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is backed by a 3800mAh battery, with fast charging support. The A9 comes with a starting price of Rs 36,990 for the 6GB variant and goes up to Rs 39,990 for the 8GB RAM variant. The device will be available in Caviar Black, Bubblegum Pink, and Lemonade Blue colour options starting November 28.
