The Apple Watch was released over two years ago and since then there has been many updates and various improvements. Though Apple’s wearables were released alongside massive hype and excitement, there was no denying the fact that the first generation Apple Watch faced with a lot of problems with its UI and performance problems. Apple ultimately fixed these issues when it released the Apple Watch Series 2 about a year and a half later and gave it a much powerful processor and better version of the watchOS, and GPS functionality.
Looking just around the corner, Apple is in plans to launch the Apple Watch again. According to a new report from the Economic Daily News, the next Apple Watch is already on its final testing phase. Assuming there are no unforeseen hiccups, the report notes that mass-production is set to begin soon and that shipments will commence in the fourth quarter. This is in line with previous reports claiming that Apple will introduce a revamped version of the Apple Watch in September followed by a product launch which will coincide with the release of Apple’s new iPhone lineup.
The upcoming Apple Watch will incorporate LTE functionality, a design change which will allow the Apple Watch to stand more firmly on its own two feet instead of having to constantly rely upon a paired iPhone. Additionally, some welcome performance improvements will likely be introduced as well. As for the overall design of the device, the Apple Watch Series 3 will not introduce a brand new form factor, according to reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Apple has nevertheless not released any official Apple Watch sales figures but a recent research report from Strategy Analytics has claimed that Apple has sold approximately 30 million units since launching a little over two years ago.
